PVAC operates under the directive of Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service and takes pride in fulfilling the Sorority's Five-Point Programmatic Thrust of Educational Development, Economic Development, Mental and Physical Health, Political Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness and Involvement.
Educational Development
Programs that encourage and stimulate academic and social development of youth such as our Delta Academy education and mentor program, Ms. Jabberwock scholarship pageant, and our annual Black Culture Festival in partnership with the Pomona Library, and partnering with the San Gabriel Valley YWCA's battered woman's shelter.
Economic Development
Programs that guide individuals toward financial empowerment such as Delta Days at the Nation's Capital and the State Capital.
Mental and Physical Health
Programs that promote awareness of, information about, and treatment and cures for health issues that affect our communities. Programs include the Los Angeles AIDS 10K Walk, the Foothill AIDS Project, and the Revlon Breast Cancer 5K Walk.
Political Awareness and Involvement
Programs designed to encourage active involvement in the political process such as voter education and registration, and Delta Days at the Nation's Capital and the State Capital.
International Awareness and Involvement
Programs that encourage an inclusive and empathetic worldview such as Delta's International Day of Service.
