Delta GEMSSaturday, April 10, 2010 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Building 3, Room 1623 Our girls need us and we are here to answer the call! The Dr. Jeanne L. Noble Delta GEMS Institute is an empowerment program for young ladies between the ages of 14 – 18. The Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy is an enrichment program for girls between the ages of 10 - 14. Committed professional women strive to make a difference in the lives of young ladies in the Inland Empire by meeting monthly with the teens to mentor, teach, talk, listen, and have fun! Topics of the monthly workshops include: Topics are designed to provide interactive lessons and activities that provide opportunities for self-reflection and individual growth. Delta AcademySaturday, April 10, 2010 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Building 3, Room 1623 This program is designed for girls aged 10-14, grades 6-8. Girls are welcome to a program where they will be mentored by the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta sorority. Topics covered in the meetings will be related to college preparation, self-esteem, cultural and political awareness, and healthy lifestyles. Girls will also participate in a book club, where each month a book will be read and discussed. Small registration is fee required, as well as the cost of the books, and t-shirt.

Miss Jabberwock PageantSaturday, April 17, 2010 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM University of La Verne Campus Center, 2000 2nd Street, La Verne We are pleased to announce our 2010 Miss Jabberwock Pageant. The pageant will host fifteen participants in royal splendor! Throughout the course of the program, the participants are taken through a wonderful journey filled with fun and uplifting activities that allow them to increase self awareness, develop and display presentation skills, and raise money for scholarships while forming new friendships and a heightened exposure to positive and professional, African American women. The culmination of these experiences concludes with our Miss Jabberwock Pageant, held on April 17, 2010 . This will be an evening of absolute sophisticated elegance! Please join us.
